Ever since the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race – All-Stars aired on American channel Logo in October 2012, drag racers have been hungry for seconds. Unfortunately there has been no confirmation to a second season.
However, if any of you follow the verified Drag Race Facebook page, you may have noticed that recently Ru was doing polls every day for one week to find out your favourite queens from each season.
Hmmm, very suspicious. I can’t see any other reason for such behaviour other than possibly All-Stars 2? I am not confirming anything, this is just mere speculation. We can only dream eh?
Anywho, this inspired me to do a list of my top 10 drag queens. There were so many fierce queens; it was quite difficult to narrow it down.
If they didn’t make the list it isn’t because I don’t like them or their style, the list is simply my personal favourites and who I would like to see more of. Oh, I won’t be including queens that have won their season or any of the cast from the previous season of All-Stars.
I think it’s only fair to give different queens a chance! The list is in no particular order, that would make it infinitely more difficult to narrow down.
First up we have Tatianna from season 2. The queen who first brought true fishiness to Drag Race. I know a few people didn’t like Tati, but come on, that Britney Spears impersonation on Snatch Game?
It was everything! I do agree that some of her looks on the show could have been more expensive looking to match her. However, I think this picture speaks for itself in how far she has come.
Next on the list is Miss Jiggley Caliente Brooks from season 4. Who could forget that baked potato couture she served up for the Ru-pocalypse challenge?
I remember her saying on the reunion episode that her brother had bought her a course of sewing lessons. With these fairly new skills, I feel it would be interesting to see what she could pull out on the runway!
Poor, poor Kelly Mantle. She was the first queen voted off from season 6 and I was very sad to see it. I felt Kelly had a lot more to offer than we saw. I would loved to have seen her in ‘Shade: The Rusical’ with her acting and singing skills.
All because Michelle Visage seen the upper part of her dress as bacon. I see where she was coming from but I thought her outfit was cute and and fitted her ‘Downton Abbey’ theme.
IIIIIIVY WIIINTEEERRSSS! Even when I say her name in my head it always sounds like that. I don’t think I need to explain why she’s on the list. Her costume design is flawless.
I don’t think she ever wore anything on the runway that was just okay. From coming out on stilts to tailoring a beautiful dress using photos of her face, this gurl knew how to make an entrance.
And they called this queen Mariah. Mariah was a very understated queen from season 3. Like, this bitch knew how to beat a mug. Her make was always on point.
However, sorry gurl, but I must call you out on your Joan Crawford. That shading though? I feel she did leave before her time though and would love to see how she’s progressed.
G-G-Gia! The girl who once said ,’I don’t jump guns, I am the boom boom gun.’ Yass of course it’s Gia Gunn. At first I really didn’t like Gia but then she started to grow on me.
Brilliant one liner’s like ‘you look like a f**king dumpster’ were so shocking that it was just hilarious. I think I speak for a few drag racers when I say I would love to see more of Gia and her wonky eyelash.
Hiiiiiiiiiiiii! When I first watched season 5 and seen that Alaska had failed to complete the first mini challenge, I thought the judges would be ruthless and she may not be there for much longer.
However, Miss Thing done made me eat my words and now she is an American Apparel ad girl! She’s polished her look up completely she should definitely get another chance to showcase it.
Miss Jessica Wild is up next. I love all of the Puerto Rican queens. Her portrayal of the disco critter in the ‘Country Queens’ episode had me in stitches. No tea, no shade (Tyra), but I think Jessica should have won that challenge hands down.
Not only did she perform well in the main challenge, but the padding she had on in her runway was fierce. Like, she filled those jeans and, if I didn’t know better, I would think that was her real booty. ESCANDALO!
Of course season 5 queen, Alyssa Edwards, has to be all up in here. Alyssa is on of those people that doesn’t even need to try to be funny, she just is. The faces she makes when putting on her make – up are hilarious.
Alyssa has a selection of catchphrases that people should apply to their own lives. My personal favourite being, ‘Don’t get bitter, just get better’. Also, lest we forget…. BACKROLLS?!?
Last but not least, we have season 6 queen, April Carrion. She is another one that displayed true versatility on the runway. I honestly thought she was going to get a lot further than she did because of her great outfit choices.
Do we all remember the beautiful raincoat outfit with the umbrella? I was gagging on that! In addition, she has been the only queen to keep doing drag race runway challenges after she was eliminated.
She posted a picture every week of her for that week’s main stage challenge. Kudos gurl, Kudos.
Well that is my list kittens, hope you enjoyed the read and got some laughs! As I stated, just my personal faves 🙂 I’d love to hear who your favourite queens are and why you love them.
